“I don't want to say I'm surprised by how great working with Jessica has been, because that would imply I was expecting less.
“But I think I have to, if only because I can't figure out a better way to say she surpassed my not insignificant faith and trust in her and her work product. I appreciated Jessica's flexibility and understanding leading up to my start date, I was grateful for her weekly updates, and I'm thrilled with what she's sent back to me.”
— Erin Cox, copyediting client, author of ARISESSA

Line-editing, copyediting, and proofreading services are ideal for the author on the cusp of publication. Hiring Hatch Editorial Services gives you the following advantages:

  • Line-Editing: Whether it's adding dialogue tags, nixing flowery adjectives, or reintroducing that flashback into the main narrative, your manuscript will be revised with suggestions to improve pacing and narrative flow.

  • Copyediting/Proofreading: Your manuscript will be corrected for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. I proofread and copyedit according to the Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, which are commonly used in book publishing. I can also revise according to UK English grammar and spelling, as needed.

  • Fact-checking: For manuscripts that rely on historical, scientific, political, or other facts, I will make note of any factual errors.

On or before deadline, you will receive:

  1. Your annotated manuscript, line edited to improve narrative flow, with grammar, spelling, and punctuation corrected via track changes.

Keeping you in the loop:

  1. Weekly Status Memos. Active Line-Editing, Copyediting, & Proofreading clients receive Weekly Status Memos that update them on Jessica's progress throughout their projects and educate them on writing and publishing topics of interest to the individual client.

  2. Complimentary Follow-Up Call. Even the most thorough editorial letter can leave an author with follow-up questions. Take advantage of my complimentary call offering to address your concerns about my editorial letter, your manuscript, or the publishing process in general.
